My name is John Finnegan . Welcome to my Web Site . It is a mixture of things that interest me ! It contains mainly genealogical information but also some material from the two golf societies I play with and a picture page which will change fairly frequently  .

History does not record the names of the ordinary hard working people who went through life , often in desperate circumstances , brought up their children and who now lie in some unmarked grave , forgotten . This is my way of ensuring that members of my family , just a few of the countless millions of decent people ignored by history, will always be remembered .  My father and his ancestors were from the parish of Kilcummin in Co. Kerry and my mother was a McCarthy who lived in Tullamore in Co. Offaly but whose father came from West Cork . I have split my information into six family files. Click on any of the green buttons below and you will be taken to another page . There are a lot of names here ( over 130 surnames ) but not much detail about each person , so I would welcome any additional information any reader can give me on the people mentioned here . I hope you find something of interest on these pages .
